Research

The point of conducting research allows us to demonstrate knowledge within sandbox. To create this tutorial a process of trial and error occured. The Idea was to create a simple basic tutorial for people like myself, who arent very computer Savvy. SInce i used the rain in experiment two to show the passing off time and it also created a very glum environment. The tutorial that i created was idiot proof in how to create rain, and adding a skybox and also adding sound, creating sound is required in crysis as it makes it a more personalised experience.

My Tutorial comes From various simple tutorials i found from you tube. And also some websites i sought out different ways of doing it.

Porosity Lense

Flow Graph Node 3

Flowgraph Node 2

Flowgraph Node 1

Porosity Brief Design

I wanted to create an installation where it could allow me to play with the concept of architecture and gaming. The potential for flow graph nodes for my porosity lense is the use of rotate, attach and vectors. It explores the concept of the speed and direction of the player, and how vital it is making a path and how to visualise in a lense the concept of speed. The notion of the Porosity Lense shows us the concept of time, and how it elapses. The choice of a scene One of the vital environmental elements that i have used is rain and the way it shows the slow passing of time and also it can be inferred to be as symbolism of a new beginning. I intend to design parts of the installation which will control and demonstrate the mastery of the various nodes.

Flowgraph Research

Flowgraph Research

Flowgraph Node - Image:ColorCorrection
ColorCorrection - Crymod Wiki
This Node controls the color properties of the screen, useful for creating certain moods and atmospheres. In synergy with other screen/weather effects I'm hoping use this to create an energy in my experiment.

Flowgraph Node - Movement:RotateEntity
Rotates an around an axis at a x degrees per second. I have tried using this particular node, which allows me

This Node will be useful for creating a dynamic space that will influence how people move; similarly the Node RotateEntityTO rotates an object between two points, this will be helpful in creating objects that rotate as a reaction to the players movement.

Flowgraph Node- Attach Child
Entity:AttachChild

This node attaches another entity to its target entity. The child entity will be linked to the target entity until the link is removed. The child entity defined in the Child input port is attached to the target entity. It is used when changing the attached entity dynamically. Displays the name of the node.

Machinima

In my machinima i wanted to focus on a few things, such as the environment, the relationship of the objects, and the different view of the explosion. The main focus of the documentary was the car yard and the physics of the explosion.
I firstly explored the domino effect, in which basically we saw each of the cars explode and topple against each other one by one. The next view was one from the inside of a window looking at it front on, and viewing it more candidly. The last part of it was watching it from a distance to see the relationship between the environment and the explosion.

Hypothesis

From a series of experiments, that will be conducted through the use of sandbox editor and sketch up. I will be documenting the outcome of the porosity and effects of an explosion, relative to the elements within the environment. The use of ramps and platforms will enable to capture different view and relationships of the void that is created when making a machinima.
